Nigerian singer, Seyi Vibez, has recounted his experience of being defrauded while seeking a record deal at just 13-year old
In a recent interview with Wazobia 95.1 Lagos, Seyi Vibez revealed his dream of joining Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment label.
In his eagerness, he turned to Google for guidance, searching for “how to register for Starboy Entertainment.”
Unfortunately, this led him to a fraudulent phone number claiming to belong to Wizkid’s manager.
The scammer requested N10,000 for a registration form, promising a screening process and a chance to perform for Wizkid.
Trusting their assurances, Seyi Vibez sold his phone to pay for the form.
However, after making the payment, he was blocked and never heard back.
Seyi Vibez shared this troubling experience to warn others, particularly someone who had inquired about joining his own record label, Vibe Inc.
He advised against registering online, emphasizing the importance of caution and thorough research when pursuing opportunities in the music industry.
