Davido’s older sister, Sharon Adeleke, has said that working with her younger brother has always been a mix of family and business.
She has been involved in his career from the beginning and now serves as the CFO of his label, a role that often puts her in the position of keeping an eye on his spending.
That closeness also means Sharon is comfortable telling Davido things other people may hesitate to say.
She said the two often disagree, particularly when it comes to his spending on cars and jewelry.
Speaking on Morayo Afolabi-Brown show, she said:
“I’ve always taken care of David. He’s always been my baby. I am the CFO of Davido’s label, and from the beginning of his career, we’ve always kind of worked together. I’ve always been a part of the management team.
“The problem is that David and I are always fighting. The things other people can’t tell him, I’ll tell him.
“One of the major things I’m always getting on my brother about is jewelry and cars. When David and I sit down, we always have a finance meeting every week because I think it’s important for him to know how his money is being spent. I always say, ‘David, please, no more cars.”
