Akin Olowokere, the newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan, Oyo State, slumped and d!ed on Monday morning
Eyewitnesses told Punch Online that he collapsed on the pitch during the team’s morning training session and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later coach was unveiled only recently as part of the Oluyole Warriors’ technical crew after the club parted ways with Gbenga Ogunbote’s team.
Olowokere, known for his calm demeanor, had been a regular player with Sunshine Stars for years before moving into coaching. He also served as assistant coach under head coach Edith Agoye at the Akure-based club.
