Singer Simi is facing backlash on X after her blunt remarks on ra.pe and false accusers sparked a heated debate online
The crooner’s posts came in the wake of a TikToker accusing an unidentified man of ra.pe.
Simi took to X to demand strict punishment for ra.pists, writing:
“I’m sickkk of this. STOP RA.PING WOMEN. They need to castrate ra.pists and burn them.”
Her comments quickly drew responses from users asking about false accusations. One user wrote: “Including the false accusérs too? Auntie Simi.” She replied tersely: “Stfu.”
When another user asked, “Dear Simi, what about false ra.pe accusers?” she shot back: “What about them?? Why are you asking me about something I didn’t talk about? Why is your response to ‘stop ra.ping women’ >> ‘what about false accusers?’ WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT I SAID????”
Simi elaborated further in a separate post, explaining the frustration behind her rant. She said nearly every woman she personally knows has experienced se.xual assault and criticized attempts to silence survivors because of the rare instances of false accusations. “If you lie, you should face consequences—but that’s not the conversation I’m having. Nor is it one I’m interested in having,” she wrote. She urged men to hold other men accountable and highlighted the fear women live with daily. “Women are terrified to go out. Women in their homes are not safe either. Ask your sisters. Ask your female friends and your girlfriends. Ask your wives. We’re not all crazy. STOP RA.PING WOMEN!!”
She added that societal tolerance for male-perpetrated abuse contributes to ongoing danger, stressing her own precautions: “I take a fu.cking pepper spray when I walk outside alone or with my daughter. Do you think I’m scared of other women? If you’re not a ra.pist and people calling out ra.pists bother you, you need to sit and have a conversation with yourself. Because why are you triggered if you’re not guilty???”
