Nigerian singer Simi recently talked about how she deals with stage fright.
She shared this information on social media while posting a video of herself practicing a song from her new album, ‘Lost And Found.’
Simi compared performing a new song on stage to wearing new shoes. She said, “The first few times I have to perform a new song (any song) live on stage is like trying on a new pair of shoes that needs adjustments.”
The singer admitted that she has struggled with stage fright in the past. To overcome this, she gives herself time to get used to the song. She explained, “Now I have to give my brain time to bond with the song so it can learn to disregard me and my nerves.”
Simi described how she prepared for a recent performance: “Anyway this night, I kept rehearsing this song (maybe overly so), because it was my first time performing it on stage and of course the nerves came. But I have one or two more to go until I get out of the way and my brain takes over lol.”
