One of Abuja’s largest mechanic villages popularly called “Kugbo Mechanic” located on the Abuja -Keffi Expressway was, yesterday thrown into confusion, following reports that a yet-to-be identified soldier allegedly stabbed an auto electrician to d3ath
The incident was as a result of a heated argument between the soldier and the electrician simply identified as “Yellow.”
While some accounts said the electrician had assaulted the soldier in the heat of the argument following which the soldier retaliated by sta-bbing him, others said the soldier was never assaulted, but decided to st*b the deceased following the verbal altercation.
The development led to a protest by the deceased’s colleagues in the market leading to the burning down of the soldier’s car, who had ran for his dear life.
A trader in the area, who did not want his name mentioned, said the situation triggered fears, making shop owners to close their shops and run for safety.
He said: “The soldier came with a car for the electrician to do something on it, after some time, they started an argument and the soldier brought out a knife to defend himself and st*bbed the man to d3ath, and then ran away.
“His car was also burnt by colleagues of the deceased. But the situation is calm now because few policemen came into the market.”
