Media personality Solomon Buchi has criticised Prophet Israel Ford after the US-based clergyman introduced his second wife, Shakayla, to his church congregation on Sunday, October 25.
Ford reportedly revealed that he and Shakayla had been married secretly for three years. He also defended his decision, arguing that polygamy is supported by the Bible.
Buchi disagreed with the pastor’s position, accusing some church leaders of using religion to justify their personal desires.
In a post, Buchi said:
“Some pastors are beginning to use God’s name to live out their polygamous fantasies. I’m sure one day they’ll invent a ‘Christian thre3some’ as God’s will. These are ministers of Satan”.
He pointed to biblical instructions that church leaders should be the husband of one wife, arguing that claims of personal revelation should not be used to justify actions that contradict Scripture.
Buchi also questioned the congregation’s response to Ford’s announcement, urging Christians to speak up when they believe a religious leader is doing something wrong.
He maintained that pastors should not be exempt from criticism simply because of their position in the church, stressing that religious authority should not be used to excuse practices that go against biblical teachings.
