Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo has warned that civil servants who fail to report to work on time will face sanctions
The governor made the announcement during an unscheduled monitoring exercise at the Jerome Udorji State Secretariat in Awka on Thursday, where he observed that only a few workers were at their posts.

Just hours after swearing in key government appointees, Governor Soludo revealed plans to automate attendance for state civil servants and conduct routine inspections to ensure punctuality.
Expressing displeasure at the low turnout, the governor carried out a desk-to-desk assessment across ministries, only to find the attendance record unsatisfactory. He directed that civil servants arriving after 10 a.m. or found absent be appropriately sanctioned.
Governor Soludo also ordered immediate emergency upgrades to the secretariat’s infrastructure, including a reliable power supply.
