Sophia Momodu serves Caroline Danjuma legal notice

Reality TV star Caroline Hutchings has been hit with a pre-action legal notice from lawyers representing Sophia Momodu over an alleged defamatory Snapchat post

According to the legal notice, Sophia claims that although Caroline did not mention her by name, the post led many people to believe it was directed at her.

The publication was allegedly reposted by blogs and widely circulated on social media, exposing Sophia to cyberbullying, insults, and reputational damage.

The legal team further stated that Sophia privately reached out to Caroline on July 3, 2026, seeking clarification if the post was not about her. However, they alleged that Caroline neither responded nor issued any public clarification, allowing the speculation to continue.

In the notice, Sophia’s lawyers gave Caroline 48 hours to:

• Publish an unequivocal retraction.
• Issue an unreserved public apology on Snapchat and all other social media platforms under her control.
• State clearly that the publication was not about or intended to refer to Sophia Momodu.
• Pay compensation for the alleged emotional distress and reputational harm.
• Provide a written undertaking not to make any further statements capable of being interpreted as referring to or defaming Sophia.

The lawyers warned that if Caroline fails to comply, they may institute legal proceedings seeking, among other reliefs, a declaration that the publication was false and defamatory, an order compelling a public retraction and apology, N10 billion in general and aggravated damages, a perpetual injunction restraining her from making similar publications, and N50 million in legal costs.

The legal notice also noted that the matter could still be resolved amicably if both parties engage in discussions before court action begins.
