Sello Maake KaNcube and his estranged wife, Pearl Mbewe, have become embroiled in a heated dispute following their separation
The conflict centers around Mbewe’s personal belongings, which Maake KaNcube allegedly refused to return.
The incident reportedly occurred at the actor’s home in Dube, Soweto, where Mbewe attempted to retrieve her items, including clothing and underwear. According to sources, the pair had previously transformed several rooms in their shared home into workspaces for their individual projects.
As their marriage fell apart, Mbewe sought to collect her possessions but claimed her ex-husband ignored her attempts to contact him. Maake KaNcube later argued that he was not home during her efforts to recover her belongings.
Tensions escalated when Maake KaNcube allegedly denied Mbewe access to her items, prompting her to seek help from friends and family. Witnesses described the situation as chaotic, with a confrontation unfolding outside the actor’s home.
An eyewitness recounted the scene, noting, “When I heard him yelling, I knew something was wrong. There was a vehicle in the driveway, and furniture was being loaded. Maake KaNcube was clearly upset, shouting at the people assisting with the move.”
During the altercation, Maake KaNcube reportedly made an emotional appeal to Mbewe, expressing lingering feelings for her. However, Mbewe stood her ground and dismissed his sentiments, stating her focus was solely on recovering her belongings.
Speaking to Sunday World, Mbewe expressed her desire for a peaceful resolution. “I hope my estranged husband comes to his senses and returns all my belongings without me needing to involve the authorities,” she said.
