Spain defeated France 2-0 to secure a place in the FIFA World Cup final, extending their impressive run with a third straight victory over Les Bleus
The European champions took the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal, who calmly converted a penalty, before Pedro Porro sealed the win with a brilliant solo effort to send La Roja into their second-ever World Cup final.
The result also ended France’s hopes of reaching a third consecutive World Cup final under Didier Deschamps.
Following jubilant celebrations after the final whistle, Spain will now await the winner of the second semi-final between Argentina and England to determine their opponents in the final at the New York-New Jersey Stadium.
