Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Stan Alieke, has criticized the Nigerian police for the continued detention of his client, one week after Speed Darlington was re-arrested

Alieke shared his frustration on Instagram.
Alieke further called on the police not to violate his client’s constitutional rights while attempting to enforce the rights of others, stressing that Speed Darlington is entitled to bail and should be granted the opportunity for release.
He wrote:
“Today makes it exactly one week since my client, Mr Darlington Achakpo PKA Speed Darlington was re- arrested and detained by the @nigeriapoliceforce and he’s been in their custody ever since.
The police should not trample on his constitutional right while trying to enforce another person’s right. He’s entitled to bail and should be granted same.”
This follows claims made by Deji Adeyanju in a recent podcast episode, where he suggested that Burna Boy is behind the latest re-arrest of Speed Darlington, following an initial arrest over false allegations.
