Former Senator representing Kaduna Central and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Shehu Sani, has dismissed the growing support for former presidential candidate Peter Obi as what he called a form of “drama” influenced by tribal sentiment, while insisting that President Bola Tinubu is on course for re-election in 2027
He made the remarks during an appearance on “The Honest Bunch Podcast,” where he featured alongside human rights activist Deji Adeyanju in a discussion about Nigeria’s political climate and governance.

Sani, while speaking in defense of the APC-led administration, argued that the enthusiasm around Obi’s political base is not rooted in real ideological change.
“The support for Peter Obi is drama, many of those supporting him and those who come from his ethnic background. If Obi becomes the President of Nigeria today, nothing changes, everything remains the same.”
He further maintained that Nigeria’s major political figures are not fundamentally different in their political beliefs or approaches, insisting that the opposition and ruling class operate on similar lines.
“Obi, Obasanjo, Atiku, and Tinubu are people who come from the same ideological perspective. They are people who share the same political thinking. Tinubu will win the 2027 elections; the choice we have is between Satan and the devil,” he added.
