BBNaija star, Tacha Akide has spoken out about her disappointing encounters with Nigerians in the UK
In her Instagram story, she shared her frustration with how some of her fellow countrymen interact with her in public.
Tacha, who just migrated to the UK, expressed her surprise at how Nigerians she has met failed to greet her, instead choosing to secretly record her on their phones.
She contrasted this behavior with the warm interactions she had with British people, who offered her kind words and compliments.
She said: “You guys will not believe I saw so many Nigerians today, which was great. But the crazy part was that you’re seeing me, and you cannot even say ‘Hi.’ I can’t begin to count how many white people saw me and said I looked beautiful today.
“The Nigerians that saw me today—what came into their heads was to record me with their phone. I am not begging you to say ‘Hi,’ but if you’re not going to say ‘Hi,’ don’t record me,”
Tacha’s comments have sparked a mixed reaction on social media, with some people ridiculing her for feeling entitled, while others empathized with her experience and shared similar encounters.
