Tamunosoye Karibi George, the contestant representing Bayelsa State, has emerged as Miss Nigeria 2026 after triumphing at the national pageant held in Lagos.
The 26-year-old beauty queen outshined 19 other contestants during the grand finale staged at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, on Saturday.

This year’s competition was themed “Pride, Power, and Purpose,” highlighting leadership, impact and personal development.
Before the finale, contestants underwent a series of activities including leadership workshops, interviews and community engagement projects, all of which contributed to the final assessment.
Tamunosoye, who hails from Port Harcourt in Rivers State, takes over the crown from Joy Mojisola Raimi. Raimi represented Nigeria at the 72nd edition of Miss World in Hyderabad, India, where she finished among the Top 20 contestants globally and ranked in Africa’s Top 5.

Her latest achievement adds to an already impressive pageant résumé. In 2024, she represented Nigeria in Ghana and clinched the Miss Africa International title in Accra, further establishing herself as a leading figure in the beauty pageant industry.
