Tania Omotayo has shared why she decided to end her relationship with Wizkid, saying she wasn’t ready for everything that came with dating someone who was becoming one of the biggest names in music.
Speaking during a podcast with Chude, Tania said their relationship started out like any other, but it quickly became something much bigger because of Wizkid’s growing fame.
She explained that, at just 21, she found it difficult to deal with the constant public attention and media scrutiny that followed them everywhere.
She said:
“I broke up with Wizkid because he’s too fine and popular. At 21, I could never have predicted what dating him would become. He was my best friend, but being thrown into the spotlight and intense media attention at such a young age wasn’t something I was prepared for.”
She said that looking back now, she understands just how much that period of her life shaped her, even though it wasn’t an experience she felt ready for at the time.
