The organizers of the Taye Currency concert, held in Ibadan, Oyo State, have explained why popular singer, Portable, was unable to perform at the event
The event curator, revealed that security concerns prompted the decision to exclude Portable from the lineup.
“We consulted the commissioner of police and signed an undertaking. Although there was adequate security at the venue, we received reports of individuals inquiring about Portable’s location and staying in Ibadan,” Jarule explained.
Due to these verified concerns, the management decided it was best for Portable to stay away from the venue entirely.
“This was an unfortunate decision, as he was the only artist unable to perform. However, as a professional outfit, safety is our priority. We hope the issue will be resolved soon,” they added.
