A tragic incident has shaken the Chipata District in Zambia, as a 46-year-old teacher, Panford Mweetwa, took his own life by consuming poisonous substances on Wednesday, July 3, 2024
His body was found at Mwami turn off, and a note was discovered detailing his assets and instructions for their distribution among his relatives.
Despite working hard, he felt he had nothing to show for it.
The deceased, a teacher at Maguya Day Secondary School, had been transferred from Nsanjika Day Secondary School.
He left behind a wife and children, and his final wishes included instructions to build a house and start a business.
The Eastern Province Police Deputy Commanding Officer, Stephen Mayoko, confirmed the incident, and the body is currently awaiting burial at the mortuary.
The community is in mourning, and the incident has left many in shock.
