The drama began when a user quoted a video of the singer, writing:
“Real one knows she just have big laps not actual ass.”

Tems, who is no stranger to unsolicited commentary about her body, responded with a powerful message addressing the ongoing obsession with her appearance:

“Okay, 7 years in. It’s time to pack it up. I never thought I’d need to say it but you are all weird. ‘It’s small, it’s flat, it’s fat.’
Dog, IT’S MINE.
‘Show us your bumbum’ — lol, so me too I will turn and say ‘see 🥰’? Nah, show ME yours first?? See how that feels?
It’s just a body. I will add and lose weight. I never once hid my body, I just didn’t feel the need to prove or disprove anyone.
The more you don’t like my body, the better for me actually.
But it’s enough now. Move on from my bum.”

Tems’ clapback has been widely praised by fans who commended her for standing up against body shaming and toxic commentary. Known for maintaining a level of privacy and self-assurance, she has consistently emphasized that her talent, not her body, should be the focus.

This isn’t the first time the singer has addressed invasive opinions. In 2022, she responded to backlash over a photoshoot with Dazed magazine, saying:
“I am not your Christian saviour. I didn’t come here to uphold your beliefs about God. I will not fit into this box you try to put me in.”
