Tems has revealed why she won’t be returning to Uganda, citing a traumatic experience during a past visit
A fan recently asked her on social media: “What’s the lore behind you not coming to Uganda? #AskTems.”

In response, Tems shared a photo of herself from an old news report with the caption: “Nigerian singer Tems appearing before court in Uganda,” referencing her arrest in the country.
The incident occurred in 2020 after a concert in Kampala, which took place during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
Authorities accused Tems and fellow singer Omah Lay of violating social-distancing regulations, leading to their arrest. Tems later spent two nights in a Ugandan prison, an ordeal she described as “so scary.”
