Tennis star, Lamphun hit with LIFE BAN

Tennis star, Jatuporn Na Lamphun has been handed a lifetime ban from the sport after a string of match-fixing offences

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) issued the punishment after the 31-year-old was found to be involved in, or attempting to, fix 22 matches across 2023 and 2024.

Na Lamphun was also handed a fine of £84,000 after violating the Tennis Anti-Corruption Programme (TACP).

In 18 of the 22 matches, the indictment included giving or offering money.

The unranked Thai star did not respond to the charges brought by the ITIA and refused to cooperate with the investigation.

It was already known that Na Lamphun had been temporarily suspended, but his lack of a response prompted a lifetime punishment to be enforced from August 20.

He also did not appeal this decision at an independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer.

And it means he is now banned from playing, coaching or attending any tennis sanctioned by a major body.

In 2016 he served an 18-month suspension after admitting to three breaches of the tennis anti-corruption programme between July and November of 2014.

He was fined £3,700 following a decision by Independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Ian Mill QC.

This includes the ATP, WTA, ITF, Tennis Australia, the French Tennis Federation, Wimbledon, the USTA, or any national association.

It is also not the first time Na Lamphun has been banned from tennis.
