Armed police have been called to the world famous Louvre art gallery this morning.A heavy police presence can be seen in Paris with the gallery and nearby shopping centre all evacuated.
It has been reported that a soldier had opened fire after being assaulted. The soldier reportedly opened fire after a man tried to enter the museum with a suitcase.
A heavy police presence is now in the area with heavily armed police guarding the site.
Officials have described it as a serious security incident.
