Content creator Ruth Odugemi known as Iyapupa has disagreed with veteran actor Pete Edochie’s claim that he is bigger than every other actor in Nollywood.
While acknowledging that Edochie is an elder in the industry, Iyapupa said she does not agree with the idea that his acting puts him above everyone else.
In a post she shared, she said:
“There’s nothing special in your acting. Nothing, nothing is special for wetin you dey act”.
She went on to point out that some of Edochie’s well-known roles often involve him sitting, using a fan or taking dramatic falls.
According to her, those performances should not be compared with the more physically demanding roles played by actors in action movies.
Iyapupa also reminded Edochie that acting in Nigeria did not begin with his generation.
“We get people wey don start acting before you,” she said.
She acknowledged that every actor has their own place and success in the industry but maintained that no one should claim to be bigger than everyone else.
“Everybody get their own glory but you can’t come and tell us say you are bigger than all the actors”, she added.
