They want to bring may Edochie down through her daughter – Emeka Ugwuonye

Nigerian lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye, who is closely involved in the ongoing drama surrounding Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has strongly defended his client, May Edochie, against those criticizing her through her daughter, Danielle Edochie.

In a fiery Instagram post, Ugwuonye exposed how Danielle’s recent comments were distorted to serve a harmful agenda, leading to harsh criticism of May’s parenting. He firmly rejected these accusations, stating that Danielle’s views are her own, reflecting her mature perspective on the turmoil caused by her father’s actions, rather than being influenced by her mother.

Ugwuonye condemned the critics for using Danielle as a pawn in a larger scheme to undermine and attack May Edochie.

In his statement, he said:
“People criticizing Danielle Yul-Edochie are simply insensitive, uninformed, and worse.

Those criticizing Yul Edochie’s daughter for her comment on social media are simply unable to place such a comment in the proper context. And those trying to blame Queen May for the comment of her grown daughter are just desperate for a new angle of attack. Queen May has defied every death wish. She has survived the most vicious campaign of hate.

Those who thought she was finished a couple of years ago must have been dumbfounded by her resilience and grace as they watched her triumph over adversity that would have crushed most people in a similar situation.

The false outcry over Danielle’s comment is just another way to attack the victim. Danielle is now an adult (young adult). She was a senior teenager when her father, Yul Edochie, turned their world upside down and plunged their family into a vortex of unsavory public and media attention.

Danielle is both a witness and a victim of her father’s extreme conduct. What Yul Edochie did was not just an aberration but a near total derailment of the destiny of his family.

What you did not realize is that when Yul betrayed his wife by engaging in a secret affair with another woman for six years to the point of raising a secret family, it was not just his wife that he betrayed. It was not just his wife that he abandoned.

He also abandoned and betrayed his children, including Danielle. At her age, Danielle was in a good enough position to personally and directly absorb the shock and trauma unleashed on her by her father.

To expect that she would not have an independent assessment of what happened or to expect that she would praise her father despite what happened is plain idiocy. May cannot be responsible for how Danielle feels toward her father.

And it will be unfair to expect May to whitewash what happened and give the children the false impression that their father behaved well. Indeed, it is illogical to expect a woman who has filed to divorce her husband to be at the same time telling her children that their father was a gentleman without a fault. They will ask her: ‘Then why are you in court, mom, if dad were a gentleman?’”
