Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has voiced his strong disapproval after an Anambra-based businessman, popularly known as B-Lord, was remanded in Kuje Prison.
Sowore described the detention as a worrying move that “risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens.”
He emphasized that sending B-Lord to prison should not be seen as a triumph of legal skill or advocacy.
“Sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. It risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens,” Sowore said.
The activist also revealed that he is taking steps to push for B-Lord’s release, reaching out to VDM’s lawyer to disengage from the case.
Sowore promised to work towards ensuring that the matter is discontinued and B-Lord is freed “without further delay.”
