Operatives from the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has rescued about 200 people including students from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) Awka, Anambra State from death, as a 3-storey dilapidated building collapsed in the state capital
The building located at Ifite-Awka near Unizik collapsed around 10:15 pm on Wednesday without any occupant inside the building.
It was gathered that before the unfortunate incident, the development control unit of the ACTDA had earlier taken decisive action and evacuated all the occupants from the building.
Officials of the ACTDA, officials of the State Ministry of Environment and the rescue occupants of the building were at the scene of the collapse at the time of filling this report.
