A three-storey building has collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State on Thursday, raising fears that several occupants may be trapped beneath the structure
According to Punch, the building gave way at about 11:40 a.m., sending residents into panic as people rushed to the scene in search of possible victims.
At the time of the incident, the number of people trapped or affected had not been determined, while emergency rescue teams were yet to arrive.
Crowds gathered around the site as concerned residents watched and waited for rescue operations to begin.
No de.aths or injuries had been officially confirmed as of the time of filing this report, and the cause of the collapse remained unknown.
Authorities are expected to launch a full rescue and recovery operation as efforts continue to locate anyone who may be buried under the debris.
