President Bola Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the “Renewed Hope Ambassador” ahead of the nationwide rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Under this new role, Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation, effectively becoming the lead promoter of the Tinubu administration’s agenda across the country.
According to the statement, Uzodimma will work closely with APC leaders and governors to “evangelise” the administration’s programmes. As Renewed Hope Ambassador and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, he is expected to drive unity, inclusiveness, and coordinated political messaging at all levels of the party, with other APC governors also serving as “Ambassadors of Hope.”
His primary task will be to lead nationwide mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening grassroots support for Tinubu’s policies as the government prepares to launch the Ward Development Programme — a central component of the Renewed Hope agenda designed to deliver micro-projects, social services, and livelihood support directly to all 8,809 electoral wards.
The Presidency said Tinubu expects Uzodimma to help deepen public awareness of the administration’s achievements, especially as the government faces criticism over economic hardship and inflation.
Tinubu, in his message to Governor Uzodimma, tasked him with ensuring Nigerians fully understand the administration’s achievements and reforms.
