President Bola Tinubu is holding a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock
According to reports, the governor briefed the president on the current security situation in Bauchi, highlighting recent disturbances in parts of the state.

Of particular concern are the activities of bandits in Alkaleri Local Government Area, which the governor said require urgent attention.
Separately, Bala Mohammed spoke to state House correspondents about recent political developments, including the wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He stated that while defectors are free to join any party, he remains committed to staying in the opposition party.
