President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Akinsanya Sunny Ajose, a former Lagos State Head of Service and a revered elder statesman
Ajose, who passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 78, was a key figure in the development of Lagos State and a dedicated leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended condolences to the Lagos State Government, the APC, and the people of Badagry, describing Ajose as a “unifying force” in the state.
“He was an astute administrator and dogged civil servant,” the President remarked, recalling their close relationship during Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos State governor.
Appointed Head of Service in 2004, Ajose was instrumental in driving reforms within the civil service and rallying support for government policies.
“Even after his tenure, we remained very close because of his leadership qualities and his role as an important partner in development,” Tinubu added.
