President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family, colleagues, and fans of High Chief Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, the former Super Eagles head coach and respected football administrator, who passed away on Monday at 88
In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended sympathies to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the National Sports Commission (NSC), and all who worked with or admired Chief Onigbinde.

The President praised Onigbinde’s pioneering role as the first indigenous coach of the Super Eagles in 1982 and his contributions to grassroots football and the advancement of football administration in Nigeria.
He also highlighted the former coach’s historic achievement in leading the Super Eagles to the Africa Cup of Nations final in 1984, noting that Onigbinde will be remembered for his discipline, integrity, vision, and lifelong passion for football.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of his soul and strength for his family during this time of loss.
