President Bola Tinubu, other powerful Nigerians TODAY attended the wedding ceremony of Senator Barau’s children
House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, many Governors, Senators, and other prominent figures were present at the colourful wedding.
Senator Barau I. Jibrin is the Deputy Senate President.
The ceremony saw the joining of Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba) and Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, as well as Aisha Barau I. Jibrin and Abubakar Abdulmunaf, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of Azman Group of Companies.
The event was held at the National Mosque in Abuja after the two raka’at Juma’at prayers and officiated by Professor Ibrahim Maqari, the mosque’s Imam.
Tinubu, represented by Speaker Abbas, served as Wakil and Waliy for Senator Barau’s children.
APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, served as Waliy for the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, while Senator Tanko Almakura stood as Wakil for Abubakar.
Governors who attended are Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
Former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, led a delegation of senators, including Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Bomai, Buhari Abdulfatai, and Shehu Buba, among others.
Members of the ECOWAS Parliament, including Fourth Deputy Speaker Billay G. Tunkara, were also present.
Presidential aides in attendance included Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
