Toluwanising’s maternal uncle, his late mother’s younger brother, has shared his account of Toluwanisings’ childhood, directly challenging the timeline previously given by his father.
In a post shared online, he said:
“We can no longer remain silent. This situation is becoming increasingly disturbing and unacceptable. Toluwanising’s ’s struggles began at a very tender age, and sadly, there was no one to come to his rescue. His mother d!ed when he was just 9 months old, not 6 months as the father claimed.
“I know the full story, and it breaks my heart to have to revisit these painful events, especially when people continue to spread false narratives without knowing the actual facts.
“After giving birth, Toluwani’s mother spent three months with us before travelling to the North to reunite with her husband. Sadly, she passed away six months later, raising serious questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. Due to concerns about her husband’s ability to properly care for her, we, her maternal family, had to step in and take responsibility for Toluwanisings. We had serious doubts about his father’s ability to care for the child.
“Since we took custody of Toluwani in 1992, his father has never shown up or made any effort to be present in his life. As his mother’s younger brother.
“Toluwanisings started struggling right from child that it got to a stage he had to start making local basket just to support himself.
“Enough of the misinformation and false narratives. Stop rewriting history without knowing the facts. Show some respect to the maternal family that took responsibility for raising Toluwani from infancy when others were absent”.
