French authorities have arrested American rapper Travis Scott, 33, following a physical altercation with his bodyguard at the George V hotel in Paris
The incident occurred on Friday morning, and prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation into “unspecified violence” against the security guard.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was seen at the Olympic basketball match between Team USA and Serbia on Thursday evening, alongside Michael Rubin and Quavo.
This is not his first run-in with the law; he was previously arrested in Miami earlier this year for an argument on a private yacht, although prosecutors dropped a disorderly intoxication charge.
Scott is a 10-time Grammy Award nominee and a prominent figure in hip-hop.
He has been involved in several high-profile incidents, including the 2021 Astroworld festival crowd surge that resulted in 10 fatalities, although he did not face criminal charges.
His latest album, Utopia, reached number one in the UK last year.
