Saturday, 24th of October, 2015 sacked Nyesom Wike as the Governor
of Rivers State and ordered a fresh governorship election in the State. Wike
who contested under PDP and was strongly supported by former First Lady of Nigeria,
Patience Jonathan was declared the State Governor after the April 11
governorship election.

APC, in the last election however filed a petition challenging his victory, and
the result is what has just been announced by the tribunal.
