Wiles, who played a pivotal role in Trump’s recent victory, will be the first woman in U.S. history to hold the position.

In his statement, Trump praised Wiles, 67, for her skills and contributions, saying she “just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history” and described her as “tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected.”

He added, “It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female chief of staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”

As the incoming administration prepares for the transition, Wiles will play a key role in selecting top officials, including the heads of all 15 executive departments, such as the Secretaries of State and Defense, for Trump’s administration beginning January 20.
