Former President Donald Trump has granted a full presidential pardon to rapper NBA YoungBoy, legally known as Kentrell Gaulden, effectively wiping out his remaining federal charges and probation
The 24-year-old artist had been serving a 23-month federal prison sentence for firearm possession as a convicted felon, following arrests in Baton Rouge and Utah. After his release earlier this year, he was under house arrest and five years of supervised probation. With the pardon, all federal legal constraints have now been lifted.
In addition to the weapons case, YoungBoy had also pleaded guilty to involvement in a prescription drug fraud scheme in Utah. He paid a $25,000 fine but served no additional jail time for that offense.
Following the announcement, YoungBoy expressed deep gratitude to Trump, criminal justice advocate Alice Marie Johnson, and his attorney Brittany K. Barnett. He called the pardon a life-changing moment and said he is ready for a fresh start.
With his record cleared, the rapper is now preparing for his first major U.S. tour, set to begin in September.
