President Donald Trump has slammed tech mogul, Elon Musk over his decision to launch a new political party, calling it “ridiculous” and branding Musk a “train wreck” who has “gone off the rails”

Trump’s remarks come after Musk, once a close ally and head of the now-defunct “Department of Government Efficiency,” announced plans to form the “America Party” in a bid to challenge what he described as the United States’ “one-party system.”
Speaking to reporters before departing his New Jersey golf club on Sunday, Trump said:
“I think it’s ridiculous to start a third party. It’s always been a two-party system, and I think starting a third party just adds to confusion. Third parties have never worked. So he can have fun with it, but I think it’s ridiculous.”
Musk, the South African-born CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made the announcement on Saturday, accusing both major parties of reckless spending. He specifically criticized Trump’s recent domestic spending package, warning it would balloon the national debt.
“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” Musk wrote on X, the platform he owns.
Once a vocal supporter of Trump’s policies, Musk now claims both Republicans and Democrats are indistinguishable on fiscal issues. He has vowed to campaign against lawmakers who backed the president’s economic bill.
