President Donald Trump is set to host Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at the White House on Tuesday, following Portugal’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Ronaldo, one of the tournament’s headline attractions, is expected to join the United States, Canada, and Mexico in preparations for next year’s World Cup. Reports indicate that a warm-up friendly match between Portugal and the U.S. men’s national team is being discussed ahead of the tournament.

Trump has previously welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino to the Oval Office, and now one of football’s greatest players will meet the president, according to MS NOW. Ronaldo had expressed his intention to meet Trump, a request that will be fulfilled with the visit.

Sources say three White House officials have confirmed Ronaldo’s planned appearance, which coincides with Trump’s scheduled meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It is unclear whether the two meetings are related, particularly as Ronaldo currently plays his club football in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr.
