A 36-year-old lady, Ekene Chroma, said to be a native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, and one Okafor Jonathan, a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, both residents at Okpanam, have been arrested for allegedly engaging in gun running
The duo was nabbed by operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team on Friday during a sting operation at Okpanam Area of Asaba.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a signed statement on Monday.
Edafe stated that upon search, two English single-barrel pistols and 110 live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
He stated, “Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running.
“The suspects and exhibits are presently in custody while the investigation is ongoing.”
