Two female Secret Service agents have been suspended from duty after they were caught on camera fighting outside Barack Obama’s mansion
Footage shows the pair grapple next to a police vehicle by Mr Obama’s home in Washington DC, and captures one threaten to attack her colleague.
The agent in the audio is heard saying: “Can I get a supervisor down to Delta two immediately before I whoop this girl’s ass?” The altercation unfolded on May 21 at around 2.30am right by the property, said to be worth around $8million (£6million). Since then, both women have been suspended as, in a statement sent to the Mirror, the Secret Service stressed it maintains “a very strict code of conduct”.
“The individuals involved were suspended from duty and this matter is the subject of an internal investigation. The Secret Service has a very strict code of conduct for all employees and any behavior that violates that code is unacceptable. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further,” a Secret Service spokesperson told us tonight.
Susan Crabtree, a RealClearPolitics reporter, shared the clip on social media. The behaviour has since been slammed by citizens in the US and afar.
One person wrote: “The lack of professionalism is astounding.” Another shared: “Wow! The Secret Service just isn’t the same as it was 30 years ago.”
