This achievement cements Tyla’s status as one of Africa’s most influential global stars, following the massive success of “Water,” which gained worldwide recognition for its unique blend of Amapiano and R&B.

Her record-breaking feat comes shortly after Nigerian singer Tems became the first female African artist to reach 1 billion Spotify streams with her collaboration on “Wait For U” alongside Future and Drake.
