U well at all? - Charly Boy blasts Sheikh Gumi for defending terrorists

Charlie Boy has taken a hard swing at Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, blasting him out over his repeated defence of bandits and his constant calls for negotiation. In a blistering post, he questioned Gumi’s judgment, sanity and motives, saying the cleric speaks as though he represents criminals rather than victims.

He lashed out at Gumi’s stance after the cleric warned against military action, writing: “Sheikh Gumi, Come make I ask you something you dey alright? Do u need medical attention? You Dey think before you talk? You say attacking bandits will be a mistake? Are you mad? Are you normal?”

Charlie Boy said Gumi’s comments are an insult to families who have lost loved ones and communities living under fear. He stressed that people are grieving while farmers have abandoned farmlands and entire villages have become deserted, yet Gumi continues to advise leniency toward those behind the chaos.

He argued that Gumi has never shown the same energy for victims, noting that the cleric consistently pushes the same lines: “Negotiate with them. Don’t attack them. Give them amnesty. Bandits are not terrorists.” He accused him of sounding like their “PRO,” “spiritual adviser,” and unofficial spokesperson.

Charlie Boy added that Gumi’s words lack compassion and only embolden the groups causing destruction. He wrote that no elder or religious figure should defend those responsible for killings, saying anyone insisting on endless dialogue is part of the problem.

He challenged Gumi to imagine the pain if his own family were targeted, insisting that the cleric would abandon the negotiation narrative instantly. “If na your family bandits carry … You go suddenly turn military commander. You go shout ‘attack them!’ louder than siren.”

He urged Gumi to stop creating confusion and to use his influence responsibly, insisting that what Nigeria needs is clarity and firmness: “Bandits must be crushed. Victims must be protected. Government must wake up.”
