The Eastern South Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with the mvrder of Federal Road Safety Corps officer Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi

Ohene-Boadi explained that police acted on intelligence that the suspect had fled Nigeria to evade arrest. “I want to inform you about the arrest of a Nigerian man suspected of killing a woman and her daughter in Nigeria and fleeing to Ghana to avoid arrest by the Nigerian Police,” he said.

The commander added that the arrest followed the circulation of a viral video alleging that Fejemirokum had abducted and murdered the FRSC officer and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State. “The suspect was hiding in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia. Upon receiving information about his location, our intelligence-led operation successfully apprehended him,” Ohene-Boadi said.

The Ghana Police confirmed that arrangements are underway to repatriate the suspect to Nigeria. “The suspect is currently in police custody, and frantic efforts are underway to hand him over to the Nigerian authorities,” the regional commander stated.

The victims, 39-year-old Lasisi Oluwamayokun and her teenage daughter, were reported missing on Sunday, November 2, after leaving their home in Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Lasisi Oluwamayokun, a Superintendent Route Commander, was a senior operational officer responsible for multiple routes and strategic enforcement coordination in the FRSC.

Several days after their disappearance, their mutilated bodies were recovered at a suspected herbalist’s den in Osun State. While some suspects, including the herbalist, were arrested, the prime suspect had remained at large until his capture in Ghana.

Ogun State Police Commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo stated that the investigation had been handed over to the Osun State Command, with Ogun police providing necessary support.
