Egungun of Lagos has sparked a contentious discussion online, arguing that formal education does not necessarily grant success in life
He claims that having a university degree is no assurance of achieving one’s goals.
To support his assertion, Egungun shared personal anecdotes about his employees, including his chef, Tayo, who holds two degrees in biology and nutrition.
Despite their impressive educational backgrounds, Egungun pointed out that they work for him, suggesting that their degrees have not necessarily led to success.
Egungun expressed:
“School does not guarantee the success of man. I have a chef, Tayo who is educated. He read biology in school. He has two degrees. He is a nutritionist and a dietitian. He graduated with a second-class upper. I also have 5 staff. All my PAs also have degrees. My videographer too is a graduate.”
