An ex-presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba has suggested that Nigeria should rename the first Nigerian university – University of Nigeria after Great Britain’s Queen, who passed away yesterday at the age of 96 after a 70-year reign.
Garba says it’s a major way of immortalizing her.
Adamu while mourning the Queen last night, tweeted; ‘’In order to immortalized Queen Elizabeth, we should rename the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria since it is the first University in Nigeria.’’

Many Nigerians however kicked against the tweet.

To this day we are still suffering from the division created amongst us Nigerians. The British never liked us, they look on us as inferior beings and l think for you a supposedly, learned? person you’re still suffering from inferiority complex.
