The warrant was issued on March 13, 2025, after VDM failed to appear in court on March 5, despite being summoned.

VDM took to Instagram to dismiss the arrest warrant as a “power play,” talking about its validity since he is currently in China.

He alleged gospel singer Mercy Chinwo of using the case to silence him and divert attention from her ongoing legal battle with her former manager, EeZee Tee.

VDM alleged that Mercy Chinwo has not been transparent about her case, asking: “@mercychinwo, till today nobody don see the part 2 of your story. You posted part one only. Why?”

He also claimed that he has no intention of acknowledging the arrest warrant or appearing in court anytime soon.

The controversy began when VDM accused Mercy Chinwo of withholding information about her fallout with EeZee Tee.
