VDM should apologize to Sultan of Sokoto in 48 hrs – Arewa Youth President

The President of Northern Nigerian Youths, Ambassador Abdul DanBature, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to social media activist Verydarkman, demanding an apology to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, over remarks made about the monarch

The controversy began after the Sultan described social media as a “terrorist organisation,” urging the government to take firm action against it.

Reacting to the comment, Verydarkman criticized the Sultan, describing his stance as “emotional” and arguing that many people have used social media for positive causes. He opposed any move to regulate or clamp down on its use, stressing the importance of acknowledging its benefits.

DanBature, in a video message, condemned the activist’s reaction and demanded an immediate retraction.

In his words:
“My name is Ambassador Abdul DanBature, the President of Northern Nigerian Youths. I want to quickly call on the attention of Verydarkman based on the comment he made against our father, our royal leader, the Sultan of Sokoto. We want Verydarkman to quickly withdraw his statement and apologize to the Sultan of Sokoto, and we the Northern Nigerians are giving Verydarkman 48 hours for him to do that. Thank you.”
