As the Ramadan season unfolds, Nigerian rapper and singer Vector Tha Viper (Olanrewaju Ogunmefun) took a moment to remember the late legend Sound Sultan (Olanrewaju Fasasi), popularly known as Naija Ninja.
On Monday, March 9, 2026, Vector shared a heartfelt post on his official X account, reflecting on how Sound Sultan quietly expressed his Muslim faith, faith that often became more visible during Ramadan.
Vector recalled the late musician’s remarkable way of connecting with everyone around him, saying:
“He was one Muslim you hardly remembered was Muslim until Ramadan… he moved through life blending peacefully with everyone. This Ramadan brought him to mind… may all our prayers for good be answered with goodness.”
For context, Sound Sultan had been diagnosed with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and, in May 2021, was reported to be undergoing chemotherapy in the United States. After a brave battle with the illness, he passed away on July 11, 2021, at just 44 years old.
Even years later, his impact is still felt, and Vector’s tribute shows the warmth, humility, and quiet strength that defined Sound Sultan’s life and music.
