Vee Iye has criticised comedian Seyi Law following his comments about the country’s security situation
Seyi Law made the statement during an episode of The Honest Bunch podcast when asked whether Nigeria is safer now than it was 10 years ago. The comedian argued that the country is more secure under the current administration than in previous years.
According to him, incidents of bomb blasts have reduced, adding that kidnappings were not a new development.
“Nigeria is safer now than 10 years ago. This government has killed more bandits since Jonathan’s. When last did you hear of a bomb blast? It is not today that they have been kidnapping people in their houses,” he said.
Reacting via her social media page, Vee disagreed with the statement, describing it as insensitive.
Quoting part of the comedian’s remark, she wrote, “It’s not today that they have been kidnapping people in their house.”
She added, “A perfect example of a desensitised Nigerian citizen who can’t see past his own pockets.
